COURTNEY DERI

Born and raised in Southern California, Courtney has been practicing yoga and meditation since the age of 16. She has been teaching since 2015 and continues to grow more passionate about helping you connect to your joy and power through these special practices...by any means necessary.

She has found herself in various types of physical movement and spiritual practices from a young age, and spent the majority of her life pursuing her passion for classical ballet. After dancing professionally in a variety of companies across the United States, Courtney completed her Iyengar influenced RYS 200 hour certification at Back Bay Yoga Boston in May 2014 under Lynne Begier, Ryan Cunningham, and Caitlyn Graham Visconte. Since then she has completed an additional 500+ hours of yoga, meditation, movement, and trauma informed training in NYC.

In her 8 years of teaching Courtney has taught for many yoga and fitness studios including; Y7, SYNC, Yoga Shanti, The Class, Vera Yoga, and Three Jewels.

Most recently Courtney's heart has been set on fire by the teachings that are found in the Tibetan Buddhist Gelugpa lineage and is currently working on completing the 18 Foundational Buddhist Courses through the Asians Classics Institute. Courtney is forever grateful for her teachers along the way; Hector Marcel, Rachel Webb, Heather Lilleston, Jamie Lugo, Taryn Toomey, Kevin Courtney, and Maggie Pierce.
